Orgueilleuse

Set in a small, isolated village in the Nièvre region, "Orgueilleuse" unfolds through the voices of three women—neighbors and friends—who initially claim they have little to share. Yet, as their stories emerge, these seemingly ordinary lives reveal moments of quiet strength and subtle transformation. Through the lens of theatre, their everyday experiences become a canvas for exploring chance encounters and the delicate threads of fate. The narrative invites reflection on how small decisions—a craving for fries at a dance, skipping a school grade, or choosing to work on a particular day—can influence the course of life, echoing the concept of the butterfly effect. Presented by Théâtre National de Nice, this play offers a poignant look at the unpredictable beauty found in the lives of ordinary people, performed in the atmospheric Salle des Franciscains in Nice.
