Things to Do in Saint-Tropez

Once a quiet fishing village, Saint-Tropez has spent six decades as the Riviera's byword for glamour — its Old Port still lined with pastel houses, now backed by yachts instead of fishing boats. The Place des Lices hosts a market and a permanent game of pétanque, while the Citadel above town gives the best view over the bay.

South of the village, the long sweep of Pampelonne beach is where Saint-Tropez's beach-club culture was born, and still draws a crowd every summer. Come for a day trip by boat from Sainte-Maxime or Nice, or stay long enough to see the port at both sunrise and sunset.
