The Sunken Cathedral

Set in Monaco’s Théâtre Princesse Grace, "The Sunken Cathedral" tells the story of Léna, a sixteen-year-old girl who inherits a neglected piano upon her grandmother’s passing. This piano becomes a conduit for Léna to explore her family’s past, tracing back through the lives of the women before her — each marked by deep-seated anger and the silence that followed. Through this intimate journey, the play delves into how family histories shape us and the challenge of embracing our heritage without losing ourselves. Directed by Florent Siaud and featuring performances by Nahéma Ricci, Évelyne Rompré or Marie-Laurence Moreau, Maxime Denommée, Steven Lee Potvin, and Jean Marchand, this production is a thoughtful examination of generational legacies and the stories we carry within us. Running approximately 80 minutes without intermission, it invites audiences to reflect on the threads of pain and joy woven through family narratives.
